Question Wideband dynoing - new bung required?

Is it standard procedure to have a new bung welded in when you do a wideband dyno? I understood that you just installed the O2 in the existing O2 bung, but I called a place (a mustang shop) that told me you have to weld an additional bung, or else the unplugged O2 sensor will cause some pcm problems.

Can someone tell me standard operating procedure?

Kennedys always used the existing bung. For some reason last time I went they welded a new one in.

PDM - Rich thought it was helpful to get the car running in closed loop while on the dyno (by welding an extra bung). IOW, it sounds like this shop knew what they were talking about .

The place quoted me 60 bucks to weld the bung in and hookup the wideband, which didn't sound unreasonable to me assuming they will include a plug for the off-dyno time!
