my Tunercat used to read and flash JUST fine .. but recently i cant get it to read my pcm for the life of it !! i keep getting "wrong message sent" And it aborts reading ..

i cant trust it to flash my pcm if it wont even read

i restart into dos mode for reading and thats always worked for me ! i have no idea whats wrong .. tried 2 laptops, 2 cables .. no luck !!

yeah restarted the laptop a few times ..

tried it both in windows and dos mode.. on 2 different laptops running win 98 and xp

not sure on the version of tunercat .. i'll check on that

but i've read and flashed my PCM over 50 times without any problems whatsoever !

come to think of it ... i did crash the car since the last time i did any tuning .. airbags went off .. it was a mess

could the impact have caused any problems related to this issue ?

mind you, i forgot to mention that i can scan the car without any problems .. freescan and TTS both work flawlesly !!?

actually i meant resetting your PCM but oh well

your cable seems to be alright since you can use datamaster so you can rule that one out.

now windows XP you wont be able to use the DOS based flshread and flashprog programs but instead youll have to use that windows based flash.exe.

win 98 should work though in DOS so you got me there but i am sure if you cant get it to work with XP using those DOS based programs is why.

i dont think the wreck has anything to do with it but you never know. i guess you could rule out the cable and software if you can get it all to work on a friends car.
