Speaking of data loggers...

for OBDII, has anyone checked into this: www.thecarchip.com

It says it logs data every 5 seconds. Not very useful IMO. You also cannot see every engine parameter, you can only choose 4 to log on the E/X model. Looks like more of a "black box" item than a useful data logger for tuning.

Maybe I should have put "data logger AND spyware"! That's what it's being marketed for. To keep tabs on the way the vehicle is being driven.

Actually, they sent me the literature for that product, and it is primarily intended to keep track of "company cars", driving habits, habitual speeders, etc. But I believe it can be programmed to log at variable intervals, so it can be used for detection of conditions preceeding a DTC code.
