Where is extra advance coming from?

When running the car with Datamaster my total timing is showing as 36 or 37 degrees at full throttle. This seems to be about 3 or 4 degrees more than what the spark advance tables are showing. Is something wrong with my car, or is this normal. I am getting some KR between shifts and sometimes above 4500 rpm. I am also running 94 octane fuel. Is my timing as shown by datamaster correct and is this too high?

I'm not sure where it comes from. I've just learned to adjust around it.
Up to 4000rpm it adds 2 degrees. At 4500 and 5000rpm it adds 3 degrees. From 5500rpm and up it adds 4 degrees.
Tune around it and you'll be OK.

I'm pretty certain I found where mine came from--"Minimum Spark Advance" table in TunerCat. Zero it out and see if it goes away.

Stock timing is pretty agressive. The little bit of KR for a couple tenths of a second doesn't matter much. You can reduce the retard amount and you can restore the timing more quickly through programming.

Any word on this? I'm getting really aggrivated, is the timing we're seeing in datamaster the real timing or not? I think if its real its comming fro IAT timing table that we just don't see or something?

Also, does it only add this timing at WOT?

You might want to go back and "delete" the 18 extra copies, to save the Moderator from having to do it.

I haven't really followed the PCM tuning over the past few years, because I no longer use the factory PCM, but is this the elusive 3deg advance that people thought might be coming from a table that added advance based on IAT temperature? This would certainly explain why things like the SLP "timing tricker" would have some small affect on HP based on masking elevated IAT temps. I know with my aftermarket ECU, we use a table of timing offsets vs. inlet air temp, and another vs. coolant temp.
