Re: wanting software

First off your going to need a cable. I have an AKM cable that works great. Most say its the only way to go. They are kind of expensive but worth it if you wanna diagnose or tune your car.

www.akmcables.com

As for diagnostic software you can get some free versions on the internet. I used freescan by Andy Whittaker when I was looking at problems with my car. Another site that gives you a diagnostic program is called carputing.com the program is called pcmcomm. Both shown below:

In the way of tuning software you can go a few ways. I personally got a custom tune from PCMforless. Bryan Herter did my tune and I love it. Feels so much smoother and better than before. He can do many things for the LT1. This type of programing you use your laptop and load up the custom tune with the interface cable. The tune is made already for you.

Also you can go with a MadZ28 tune. Everyone also says he is wicked good with his tunes. These ones though switch computers instead of loading them up like the PCMforless (if I remember correctly). I'd personally look for someone who knows what their doing to tune my car (like these people), although you can also get a little more hands on with other programs.

Another hands on program would be LT1edit.

Some options to go off of. First you need the cable so check that site out or also keep an eye on the for sale section. Thats where I picked mine up for $50 instead of the $90 for a new one.

Hope this helps a little bit

Jp
