VEMaster!?!

What is the best way to use it? This is what I did; I made 6 copies of the present tune in my car I logged about 5 logged files with freescan each about 15 seconds.
I used vemaster to process each logged file to a separate copy of the tune in my car.
Then I pulled up each .bin file in tunercat to look at the changes vemaster add to them.
Not even 2 of them are close to being similar , so I figure I am doing something wrong and I need help from you guys.

Yeah, you need to log way longer than 15 seconds to get anything meaningful. And you need to drive through all RPMs and loads, to cover the entire VE table.

Can you tell me how long, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes? And what if I don't hit all rpms and loads to cover the entire table will that mess it up? Would just logging an afternoon drive or like the entire drive to work (about 35 mins) be the best way to do it or is there a process of making sure to hit the entire VE table?

Thanks for the help!

No, if you don't cover all aspects of driving it won't hurt anything, it just won't tune everything possible.

I prefer to do long logs, like 15-20 minutes, to make sure I get lots of data for each type of load/RPM.

You can do this over a few days. Log, tune. Then the same thing the next day. After a few days, you'll have it pretty much as good as it can get with VEMaster, then you can do the rest of the fine-tuning (idle, boundary values, etc.) by hand.

Also, I doubt you'll notice any change if you're still running a MAF sensor. I never did. Now that I'm running speed-density, it works quite well, however.

I believe the readme even states to run for about 10 minutes or so, the more data the better, almost to no end.

However, multiple logs are worthless. Run and log, run VEMaster, and then log again. I would be interested if this works, the LS1 guys do not change VE tables unless they go Speed Density, and I know this argument goes back along ways on MAF cars.

What I run...

I usually make a 30 minute run and usually keep it at 3000rpm and lower. Don't think VE adjusts above 3000 anyway. And yes, log a run, run VE then do it all over again. A few times should get it pretty good. I saw a dramatic affect after just one 30 minute log and run through VEmaster.

stormbringer000,

Yes, you can single enable to "Speed Density" toggle switch in TunerCat under the "Switch" pulldown list at the top.

Then you "tune" your BLMs with the VE tables.

Eddie,

Actually, no, they aren't useless. They work great in speed density mode, as they're supposed to do.

well considering 90% of us never use speed density
