Using LT1 Edit, how do you turn off the knock sensor?

I'm getting false knock from my car, and I want to shut the knock sensor off. How do I go about this. Thanks

You don't really turn it 'off' with a tune. You can disable the timing it tries to pull though.

Open the editor, and your tune file. Click the edit menu, then choose Ignition.

Once there, you'll see several buttons that have to do with timing retard.

I think the main ones you're interested in are Max Retard, RPM and MAP. If you want to disable it, just set the values to 0 for whatever conditions in the table that you feel you need to.

That should do it.

Typical disclaimer: I don't recommend you do this. I recommend you find the cause of your falst knock and solve it. Doing this will disable the PCM's ability to combat real knock, which could lead to engine damage. Do this at your own risk.

Its a combination of things, my lt's, true duals and rr's. I'm getting the code 43 which is my knock sensor. I bought a new one from GM ($40) and can't get my old one out. The car stays in open loop. I just want to disable it for the track, I won't be able to go but twice more this season.

I broke mine off in the block and had to heat it up to temp and then weld a bolt to it and got it out that way....

Hey heat it up to temp and then try to get it , it swells and makes it easier to get out...thats what I did after I got the first one out....worked like a charm

if the heat doesn't work try tapping on it LIGHTLY with a hammer while trying to break it loose. this method works most of the time.
