I dont believe its a plug-and-play swap, if possible at all. The OBDII PCM reads a couple sensors that the OBDI doesnt even have, so you'll run into problems right there. You'll also have to install a 96+ knock sensor. I think your other problems will be rear O2 sensors, EGR, AIR, , crank position sensor (some can be taken care of with [expensive] programming). The OBDII PCM is much more picky and often wont let you get by with much more than low windshield wiper fluid.

You will need a OBDI computer I think a 94 will work. 97 will not.

No, The 96 will not work with a 95. Not only is it not OBD compatible, the hardware inside the PCM is different. The flash that holds the code are different sizes, even though it may be possible to convert the PCM if you werent worried about emissions, and diagnostics. Kevin

I think a few people on the LT1-Edit list have done it, because it solved some shifting problems high power A4's were having. The knock sensors are different, and the 96's added rear O2's and a crank position sensor. I think both can be turned off in LT1-Edit. Search the lt1-edit archives....
