Tunercat installation problem
Tunercat installation problem
K, just picked up a new laptop, but I can't install tunercat on it from my backup files because it will terminate the program as soon as the program begins. Now, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem (doesn't seem to be, I've searched), but on my desktop and my laptop I am running into this problem. I didn't have it when I used WIN95 on my old laptop, but this one is WIN98, same as my desktop. If I tried to run the install programs on either, they just shut down right away. I ask TC about this, but I don't expect to here from him right away, he's busy with other stuff and questions, I'm sure. If anyone has any ideas (I think it is some type of conflict with another program, but I can't find one for the life of me), I'd be willing to try them.
Hey Doom, I saw something on the TunerCat site that might be of assistance.
The Tuner setup program will not run?
When I try to run the Tuner setup program, the main setup screen is displayed briefly and then the screen disappears and the program ends. This problem usually occurs because the riched32.dll file is missing from your 'System' subdirectory or the files is an incorrect version. Click on the following link to download the current version of this dll file.
Here is a link to the file they are referring to:
http://www.tunercat.com/software/misc/RICHED32.zip
Hope this helps
You might also try downloading the tuner program from the site and then just copying the definition file from you old laptop and putting in your registration code again.

Sounds like a good first shot to try (Winders Update also mebbe).
What I usually do is just intall the shareware (once you can do that) and then copy and paste my old DIR over the new one, on whatever machine it is. This way my serial and all the other garbage gets transfered over, but you knew that

Thanks scott95ta and Dr. Mudge, didn't even see that one the website. Must be all the long hours I've been working that's preventing me from seeing stuff right these days. Yeah, got to do the copy and paste, it's so much easier that way!
