tuner / scanner

Hey all, I just bought a 97SS and really want to be able to tune it.
At the very least, a scanner would be great.

I have been searching for cables for my laptop, and would be curious what the cheapest cable is.

Also, is there a free scanner for OBD II like freescan? The only thing I can find is the 30 day trial stuff.......

Unfortunately, I have stupid emissions in MD, and I need to retain OBD II if I want to pass easily.

Save the OBD2 PCM for passing emissions.
