I have a 94 z28 auto. The only mods are hooker LTs, custom y, no cat, flowmaster exhaust, and a CAI. I'm just wondering if this is enough modding for a tune to make a big difference ( is it worth it)?

A good tune will produce more than 10HP on a totally stock engine. The power enrichment (PE) mode target A/F ratio is too rich with the stock programming. Leaning out the target A/F ratio will produce the HP gains. With the mods you have, you should see more than the minimum. A switch to a 160*F thermostat would be a good idea, so the tune can revise the fan on/off temps, and tweek the timing for additional HP gains.

What is a good program to start with that won't break the bank and is good for a beginner? Thanks for the info so far.
