i installed tts datamaster ee 3.4.17

well, i got a datacable and a usb to serial adapter for my laptop.....i configured everything per datamaster's manual and it still wont read my pcm.

here is the error i get when i go to test the com port

"The ALDL adapter is working, and unknown data was detected. This may be an unsupported PCM type."

any suggestions?

 

Make sure you have the correct vehicle type selected. From the top menu look at Setup then from the drop down menu look in Vehicle Type.

i did that, selected the 'serial usb device in use'

configured the adapter in the control panel

everything the manual says to do

 

If you are using a USB adapter, that may be your problem. I finally gave up on USB and just bought a laptop with a serial port.
