Unhappy TTS DataMaster Help

O.k. I need some Insite/help
I down loaded the TTS Data Master for the OBD1.
I have this cable: http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd1
Here is TSS cable: http://www.ttspowersystems.com/adapt_cable.htm
Acording to Moates my cable should work.
I have gone through every step for trying to get my Laptop to see the cars computer but I have had no luck.
I also down loaded the TTS prgm to test the conection and it all goes through with flying colors and the COM port is working fine.
I have adjusted the colum for the ALDL Link Timing between 190-215 as sugjested by TTS and I still get the "no snyc....Recycling" error with the DataMaster software.
I'm getting very upset, I have spent money on stuff so I can figure this out and it's not working and I have just about had it and I don't have anyone loacaly that can help me.
My laptop is a Dell Latitude with the folowing:
Windows Xp Pro
512meg ram
Pentium 3 with a 1g Prosesser
20meg hard drive
Or in other words my laptop should be able to pilot the space shuttle and not flintch.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Re: TTS DataMaster Help

DataMaster TTS works like crap. It will work on one day and not the next and I still haven't found out why. I downloaded the free trial version and ate up most of my free trail runs because it wouldn't connect to the PCM or the program locking up my computer. After that I would try it the next day and it would work fine. My suggestion is to try it again and if it doesn't read the pcm try and restart your computer.

Doesn't sound like a Datamaster problem.

It would be kinda hard to guess.

But there are thousands of people successfully using TTS Datamaster, with a variety of cables, and on every computer imaginable. I have found it to be 100% reliable, using a modern (non-RS232) laptop and USB>RS232>ALDL cable, on my OBDI-converted car - and that's arguably the most "difficult" situation for Datamaster.

Re: TTS DataMaster Help

That sounds like the same problem I was having many moons ago. There is something in one of the menus about "disable ccm handshake". I had to do that to force datamaster to connect.
Bad thing is the guy that wrote datamaster used to check this board every so often to help with any problems, now it seems as if he's disappeared...?

Re: TTS DataMaster Help

Well I'm at aloss
I have the ALDL test prgm and it passes with flying colors, green all the way.
I did the Hyperterminal test an di got nothing
Went into the Control Pannel and checked the COM 1 and it says it's working just fine.
I went back to the DataMaster and did it again and got this error:
The ALDL addapter is working but no PCM was detected.
Check the cable conections bettween the addapter box (?what?) and the PCM. This can occour if teh Data Master verison is incorect for the vehicle.

For one there is only one verision for the 93 F-body so I know I don't have the wrong version.

I called TTS and I got the secratary who don't know jack about jack and tried to help me and didn't even know what I was talking about, wtf.
I piched a fit and told her to get me someone who knows what they are doing and she said it would be 9pm (6pm in Cali) before I got a call back.

Get me a carb and a few gages and I'll be happy

"Disable ccm handshake". I had to do that to force datamaster to connect.

No I didn't do that yet.
It looks like I have a ECM problem I can't get my SES light to flash with the ECM port to the car jumped so I have some more work to do.
I took my laptop to work and they helped me with the COM porttest and the hyperterminal test and COM 1 is working just fine so I have to figure out why my ECM is on the fritz now??
