trouble code

I have a trouble code of 36.

Faulty high resolution pulse or multiple low resolution pulses detected in ignition system.

WTF?

I have everything new. New opti, new wires, new plugs. Why am I getting this code. The only thing not new on my car is the coil.

Thanks.

You are losing the high res pulse, at least intermittently. Have you checked the wiring harness? A faulty connector or corrosion on the terminals will screw the signals up. Remember, there is one connector on the Opti, and another on a bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold - the grey 4-pin connector near the EEC solenoid. Also, check for a high voltage wire running close to and parallel to the Opti harness, causing HV inductive interference.
