tips for running obd-2.com diagnostic software

just got the cable tonite...only tried it out once...

have difficulties getting some of the real time data i would like.

anyone using this and familiar with how to set it up.

so far i've found how to watch some of the data and how to read codes, but i couldn't figure out how to look at the log to see how things changed over time.

one thing i want to check out is what my redline is...mostly to confirm that it is at the stock 6200 since the tach is not very accurate.

Did you install the enhanced LT1 file? That adds a ton of additional sensors you can watch. What specifically do you want to monitor?

i downloaded it, but not sure how to access it.

i got some directions from alex (creator) but havn't tried it yet.

one thing i really want to look at is knock retard...to see if i'm getting any.

i just ordered some plugs/wires cause i'm chasing a random misfire. so i'm kindda on hold till i do that.

If you put that file in the correct folder, you should just go to the "Enhanced" menu, then choose your car under the options. That's the menu that has knock retard and all that stuff in it.

If you're chasing a random misfire, the "enhanced" menu will allow you to view the number of misfires on each cylinder. That may help.
