time to tune???

Hey guys, I have a post on here about my friend that will be using LS1edit software on my car.. I was a little iffy about him doing it but I guess I forgot to ask the most basic question.. Do I even need to worry about air/fuel and spark yet?? My mods are only the free ones, like !maf screen, airbox cut, egr cut.. and also a whisper lid w/K&N, 160* stat, 3" magnaflow catback.. I didnt know if thats even enough mods to constitue a tune.. I know he can do all the normal stuff, like make it shift harder and take out limiters (if there are any).. or whatever .. but does he really need to worry about the more advanced stuff yet?? Oh and before I forget.. How many cats are on our cars?? At a quick glance it kinda looks like 3.. one on the drivers side right after the manifold, one on the passanger side right after the manifold, and one more on the passanger side right before it merges into the "Y".. when they install the magnaflow system can I just get rid of that cat farthest back?? sorry im ignorant, but i made alot of mistakes modding my thirdgen, and dont want to make mistakes modding this car, and I know the computer is alot more sensitive than the OBD1 is to any changes.. Just general advice is what I need here..
