Takes a little cranking to start when warm
I am actually working on the tune for my 383. It ihas lt4 ported heads, a GM 847 cam Hooker LT headers and accel 30# injectors. 10.4 CR.
I am running an open loop tune now that is almost perfect. Car runs great, no cam surge.
The problem I have not figured out yet is the reason why it will need some additional cranking to start when the engine is warm.
When cold it wil fire at the very first instant. Also at normal operating temperature if stopped and cranked inmediately it will start very easily. If the engine is warm (perhaps one or two hours after stopping it) i need to crack the throttle a little bit for it to start.
I thought that maybe the injectors were leaking and flooding it. I hooked a mechanical pressure gauge to the fuel rails and the pressure holds after stopping it.
The car will start easily, its just that the 350 with the hot cam and stock injectors diddn't do it.
Anybody care to suggest what to look for?
