stored codes?

Do 1995 Z28's store trouble codes? My SES light will randomly come on, mostly after extended highway driving. Sometimes it will go off on it's own or when I restart the car it is off. Doesn't happen all the time. When I check for stored codes, there's nothing. Thanks.

Re: stored codes?

Yes, if a code sets, it gets stored, and stays stored until the car have been driven a substantial number of "drive cycles" without the same problem recurring.

How are you checking for codes?

Re: stored codes?

I have checked it with a Snap On scanner, using the 12 pin GM connector, jumped with two jumper wires as per Shoebox's diagram. Thanks.

Re: stored codes?

Does the Snap-On require a 12V pin? There is none in the connector.
