Spark retard and knock count
Spark retard and knock count
What are acceptable levels of spark retard and knock count when viewed in Datamaster.
I've seen as much as 5 degrees being pulled - I believe I have the limit set to 5 degrees so no more than that can come out.
How much does pulled timing affect HP - is there a rough estimate on what 1 degree of timing = hp?

Re: Spark retard and knock count
Knock count means nothing. Knock retard on the other hand has a direct correlation to HP loss. I don't think there is an equation that will net you a HP loss from knock retard, but if timing is being pulled, HP is lost. Idealy, you want 0 knock retard. Alot of people just tune out knock retard entirely in the PCM(me included), however you definitely want to make sure it is false knock before you program it out.
Re: Spark retard and knock count
I'm seing some knock too but i got heads cc306 lt headers and at that time cut out opened. I bet the cut out had something to do. to program out knock i should just put the max knock retard to 0 right?!?!?!
