Question SLP Skip Shift Eleminator v/s knockoff

Has anyone purchased and installed one of the knock-off skip shift eliminators (like on eBay)? An example of one is at the link below.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA:IT&ih=023

You can get them on eBay for $10 including shipping and handling. SLP online has the mod. for $43 w/Ship.

What do you guys think?

You can make your own for less than $1.00. Go to Radio Shack and buy a pack of 2000 ohm 1/2W resistors. Pull the harness connector off the skip shift solenoid, and push the end wires on the resistor into the harness connector. Tape it up and wire tie it out of the way, tape up the connector on the tranny. You are done, and have just saved at least $9.

If you read carefully, that is all they are selling you on eBay.... a single resistor worth about 20-cents. But a pack at Radio Shack for a buck, and give the other 4 to your friends.

Godamnit you must KNOW IT ALL?!? I feel like such an idiot. Why didn't I think of that before...as "Donnie Baker" would say:"I swear to God I'd punch you in the mouth if you said that to my face!"

I was asking b/c I didn't know, and I do NOT need some smartas* telling me how stupid my question was.

I dont think he was doing anything but giving you information. I got ripped off by one of these ebay guys, and to retaliate I was selling them for $2 each on ebay. I gave the buyer the option to just get the instructions by email free, or I would send them the resistor too for the $2 plus $1 for shipping. They guy I bought it from actually had a picture of the SLP unit in the auction. I was pissed, and put him out of business. I think after I stopped, he re established another account and started again. But now I have mine just programed out, so I dont need the eliminator. If you plan mods, it is a good idea to have it tuned anyway and they can program it out then.

Either way, good luck. Easy mod, and cheap if you use the Radio Shack mod. Do a search with your favorite search engine for LS1 skip shift free mods and you will find it.

If you feel my response was "smart as*", you have some serious issues. That was a sincere attempt on my part to save you some money, and consists of simply stated facts. If you took it the wrong way, that is your problem.

Since you have chosen to combine your dissatisfaction with a threat of physical violence, I'll be sure to keep an eye on your posts in the future. We do not welcome that approach here, and any repeat will be delt with by myself and the other Moderators.

Have a nice day.

That's the type of info. I'm looking for, thank you very much. How did you have it programmed out?

I'm having a great day! And since you are into facts: Donnie Baker is a fictional character on the Bob and Tom morning show. Its a national broadcast. I didn't combine my satisifaction with anything! I used a quote from a morning radio show. That is what these ==> "..." notate.

Amazing.... Injuneer spends his time typing a detailed response, that exactly answers your question.... and you trash him and call him a smart a$$?

"Godamnit you must KNOW IT ALL?!? I feel like such an idiot."

Jay-mak - "Your a dumbass" - Bevis and Butthead (notice I just notated "...") was an American animated television series created by Mike Judge. After the success of Judge's short film entitled Frog Baseball, which starred the characters Beavis and Butt-head, the cable television channel MTV signed Judge to create a series with the same characters. They are purely fictional characters. AKA - Cartoon.

Maybe Jay-mak needs to next time specify what type of answer he wants since the well informed response that Injuneer left apparently was not good enough or it was overly technical and left Jay-mak disorented and confused. Ultimately he felt insulted.

Injuneer was simply telling the story how it is... telling exactly what that thing on ebay does.. and now with the knowledge of how it works one could re-read the ebay post carefully (carefully meaning sometimes Ebay descriptions are misleading and deceptive).
