The resistor in your key is full of crud, and/or the workings of your lock tumbler in the steering column are going out.

Take it to a dealer to check out, and/or try alcohol on the key.

Dealer, man are you rich or what? It can be bypassed, do a search for it, Or program it out.

I had mine programmed out via Tunercat, no I'm definately not rich. If you want it fixed though then you have to take it to a dealer for a new tumbler and/or set of keys, depending what the issue is.

So long as it only remains a light, and not an eventual "car wont start"... If you have any Tunercat friends it can be programmed out, I think the tumbler costs a couple hundred with the labor, Tunercat + cable would run less than that.

Good luck

My friend had the same problem! He just took his to the dealer(Jacksonville, NC) and they charge hom $275. $125 parts, $150 labor. Like they said you can just bypass it. There are 2 ways of doing this. Program it out of the ECM (but the light will still stay on in the dash) or put a resistor in line. If you want to know how to put the resistor in email me and I will explain how to do it.
