Smile replacing bad PCM 1994 OBII AT

Anyone have experience replacing PCM and where reliable source is? I need a PCM for 1994 LT1 AT... I've been to EBAY and seen used ones, and just wondering who is best...and should I have it flashed with my VIN # or just get one for AT 4L60e? My old one cooked and was custom programmed by Ed Wright (Fastchip) and he'll reflash if I send him a blank. Sharing any experience with venders GREATLY appreciated. Example, I bought an Optispark from Chandler Automotive on EBAY a few months back and I'm very happy with it...so far. I see the ECMs ranging from cheap, cheap like under $50 up to $150. I don't want to put junky PCM in my car but how can I confirm it's decent...assume it is only with warranty through vendor. Thanks!

Wouldn't Ed have a used unit he could sell you? Most mail-order programmers have cores available, and you know if you got it from a programmer it would be reliable and guaranteed.

Your 94 is OBD-1, not "OBII".
