Re: Reading ABS codes

This may be a dumb question but how do you go about using the scan 94/95 program when you have an obd2 port or did you keep an obd1 port?

I have a 95 impala ss with the T.H. kit on it with abs faults that I need to read.

If your DLC port is 16-pin, and your PCM is OBD-1 (like a 95 F-Body), there is a cable available specifically for that application.

Don't know how the Torqhead conversion might affect that.

Re: Reading ABS codes

According to Gary Doug the ABS data stream is the same for the '95 PCM as the LS1 PCM I got from TH. Paul at Torqhead and Gary Doug helped me out a lot. With the '95 having the 16 pin port Scan 94/95 will read the ABS signal. It travels on a different wire than the data codes we normally use. It is possible to read the ABS codes with SCAN 94/95 even though it shows it's not getting a datastream for the engine codes. If the information how to do that is not in this thread I'll have to see if I have it in emails or PMs. There was something I had to do or ignore in Scan 94/95 to see the ABS codes. However, once I learned what to do I could not only read the codes I could control all the ABS actuators with Scan 94/95.

Threads 12 & 13 explains the process if you have the 16 pin data port (OBD2 style) and the hookup for Scan 94/95.

All I had to do on my '95 Camaro is move a wire from one pin to another as per Paul's instructions. I don't know what your '95 Impala uses for a data port.

Re: Reading ABS codes

I have the ALDL scan cable which is a USB to 12 pin plug which worked fine when I had a 12pin obd1 port in the car. I have scan 94/95 loaded on my computer

I now have a 16 pin obd2 port in my car with the TorqHead 24x system.

Did you maintain your 12pin obd1 port or do you have a 16pin obd2 cable that you are using to run scan 94/95?
