quick ls1 ecm question

is there a difference between the 98-02 ecm computers. is any one year better to work with then another?

can you run a 1999 ls1 with an 00 computer, mix and match for example?

Re: quick ls1 ecm question

There are several editions of LS1 PCMs.

97 Corvette LS1 PCM
98 F/Y body LS1 PCM
99-00 F/Y body LS1 PCM
01-03 F/y body LS1/LS6 PCM

All these have different part numbers and a 98 PCM will not work on a 99 or newer car and vice versa.

You can switch a 99 PCM in a 00 and vice versa, provided you flash it with the correct calibration.

Same goes for 01-03 PCMs.

As far as I can tell, 01-03 PCMs are pretty much the same thing as a 99-00 with a newer calibration, so you should be able to interchange those as well. As for using a different year PCM on your car, there is really no advantage to it.
