obd 2 to obd1
obd 2 to obd1
ok, 2 questions
1. if i pick up a used obd1 computer, can i just install it into my car and then get e-mail tuning for it? or is there more to it than that?
2. i currently have a tuned obd2 computer, can i just sell it to someone with the same mods that i have and they can plug it in and it'll work no problem? does different vin# really mean anything?
thanks for any input.

Re: obd 2 to obd1
You can't just get an OBDI PCM and plug it in. You will also need to swap your knock sensor (not the one in the PCM - that's the knock module) with an OBDI (94-95) one. Then you can get tuning for it if you want.
Your OBDII will work on someone else's car with the same mods and transmission type. It will also work in a 97.
VIN is used for reference only and does not affect driveability. It does have to match the car's VIN if the other person needs to pass scan emissions.

Re: obd 2 to obd1
ok, so all that i'd need is an obd1 pcm and an obd1 knock "sensor"(goes underneath on the block, if i'm correct??) and then i can get tuning and that's it, ready to go?
