Question
Question
My car is in the shop with a miss that came around after I spun a rod bearing. I chose a bigger cam during this but still nothing that huge. I think it is 236/242 like .580/.590ish lift. The guy at the shop is convinced it is the OBDII computer causing the miss, he thinks OBDI will solve the problem. When does an OBDII become a problem? or does it at all? I'm pretty sure there are people on this board running bigger cams and OBDII with no problems. I think my delteq unit was damaged during the repair but he assures me that it is working fine. He also thought it was the opti but after replacing it (against my wishes) it didn't solve any problem. I'm getting a little fustrated because it has been like 4 weeks with the same problem. Is it really OBDII??
Re: Question
Just to generalize my thread. Is OBDII a problem when you get into larger horsepower numbers? Do most people convert to OBDI? It seems I was mistaken about the miss, he says it no longer has the problem. But in powerband around 4500rpm the horsepower starts to drop off and then starts to pull again but always down and never consistent. Is that really a computer thing?
