Programming a '97Z
My brother (blown 93 T/A) just got the program and laptop link to adjust fuel, timing, etc. to compensate while he's under boost. I'm looking to do some engine mods and eventually a blower that will need the same type of tweaking, but we're running different computers in the car (OBD1 vs. OBD2). Does anyone know what I need specifically to program this thing?
Thanks for the help!

To remain with an odb2 pcm you'll need the very expensive LT1 Edit ( www.carputing.com). Its around $500.
An odb1 conversion would be much cheaper ($270). You would switch to an odb1 pcm and just soldier a resistor in it for under $100 ( www.car-parts.com).( www.car-parts.com). Then a cable ( www.AKMcables.com) and Tuner Cat software ( www.tunercat.com) would be another $170.

Awesome. My brother actually has the software for OBD1, and we found instructions and actually made our own cable to go from the serial port of a laptop to the car (works great, cost about 90 cents in parts and 1 hr. of work!). Will I need a different definition file or anything else?
Same definition file ($EE). Just load your new pcm with a stock odb1 file (maybe your brother still has his) and set it for the correct tranny (mt/auto), rear gears, and traction controll (Y/N).
I guess your just sticking the connections directly into the cars port instead of using the actual gm connector there. If not, I hear its hard to get the odb2 connector.

If you decide to do the OBD1 conversion (which I recommend, OBD2 sux and all the software for it is too expensive), you can just use the OBD2 port on your car. It'd just be like having a 95, which has the OBD2 ALDL port but the OBD1 computer. If you want a nice molded cable instead of just using banana clips or something to connect to the port, go to www.autoxray.com to get a molded OBD1 ALDL 16 pin cable (listed as a specialty OBD1 cable since it looks like OBD2) for about $35.
yep, pretty much the DOOM god, I used to play all the time but no one could beat me so everyone stopped playing me. It's been years since the last game I played against anyone either at a LAN or on the Net, simply because they all got tired of not being able to beat me. I originally just went by DOOM when I got online, but after everyone started staying, "He's the DOOM Master, don't play him," I just went with it. I still play single when I get a nostalgic kick. People at LANs still won't play me!
LoL, I met a guy that claims he beat Thresh by a handy margin, supposedly he is only a bag of tricks that just fools alot of people, who knows.
Check out Zdaemon.com , there are 2 known Doom gods on there that I've heard of, some others are just plain pretty good, alot of youngsters though (13-21) but likewise some are more than rocket-fodder.

Sweet, I'll check it out. Maybe make a comeback and see how long it takes before to climb the latter again. I'm surprised that people still play, I tried coming back about 3 years ago and the only place that still had any DOOM players was Kali, and they want to have you pay to play.
Yep, before the Quake network code was worked into Doom it was kinda crappy playing people with high pings, its ALOT better now with ZDoom, CSDoom and ZDaemon. There is also the Internet Doom Explorer, which looks for CSDoom and ZDaemon games alike, although ZDaemon is the only one with the built in ranking system.
