Angry Problem with starting '95 lt1

Stopped car to put gas in, went to start back up, turned key to on postion, gauges did not move, but all electronics worked (lights, radio, wipers...), and the car would not crank over. Eventually, I have no idea how, the car started cranking, would fire up and immediately shut off. The only time it will stay running is if you hold the key all the way forward like you are trying to start it and hold the gas pedal down, as soon as you let off of the key it shuts back off. Checked fuel pump, its working, changed fuel filter, and was still doing the same thing. Went to dealer, got new ignition switch and a new key to go with it, installed, and still getting the same results. Starting to get frustrated, any suggestions??

Sounds like you got a new key cylinder and not an ignition switch. Hope you got a key with a pellet to match your old one or you will have PassKey problems added to those you already have.

The igntions switch is on the lower part of the column and sounds like your problem.
