pcmcia to serial with tunercat

I've just about given up looking for an old laptop with a serial port. and the usb to serial connectors suck. Has anyone used a PCMCIA to serial card with tunercat or LT1 edit?
Any problems? suggestions?

if you have usb ports you can buy a port replicator which can be found at any computer store. includes a serial port a parallel port and sometimes a ethernet port. If you go this route, make sure you get a 'port replicator' and not a usb to serial converter.

I'm also using PCMCIA serial port, works very well with DataMaster and TunerCat. Check out eBay.com, there are plenty of it (35-50$), but beware of those 20$ without a 'dongle'.
PCMCIA cards have built in hardware UART 16550 and their own interrupt, so everything will work ok.

What about this one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

It's the only one I could find on e-bay.

That EIGER/FUJITSU card is very good. Also, search for a string 'PCMCIA serial' in eBay, there are more.
