pcm fried sorta

ok so i went to progam my pcm, it established communication and then said erasing flash memory and then stopped. so i turned the key off and back on and then the fans turned on and stayed on. i heard the fuel pump prime so i tried to start the car and it actually started. the fans were still on and so was the ses light. the ses light is solid and not blinking. the car idles but badly and i can kinda rev it up and then it wants to die out. so i unplugged the battery and im waiting. whats your opinion? fried or not?

Yep, same thing happened to me in my 95 TA a few months. I had to have the chip in my PCM replaced.

Unplugged the battery and waiting? It's not going to self heal. Try reading it again or retry your programming. What have you got to lose? Most fried computers will not run at all.

My car had the exact same symptoms, fans running, idling badly, and SES light on when the flash chip was damaged. Replaced the chip, and runs like a top.
