Once again, Datamaster/ car tuners come in here PLEASE!
I recently bought an ALDL cable from Andrew and the usb adapter from them also. Well I have installed the usb adapter and everything then I went to test com on Datamaster and it said it passed and pcm detected, but when I try to run Datamaster it says "no pcm sync, recycling"
So then I went out and bought Radio Shack's usb adapter and when I go to test com it says "The ALDL adapter is working, and unknown data was detected. This may be an unsupported PCM type" Does anyone have any answers to this?

are you using datamaster EE?
if so go to "record aldl data"
when the box pops up select "setup" and make shure the correct com port selected.
then click monitor
also do you have the wires pluged into the correct point of the car aldl port?
from the cable there are 2 wires that need to be hooked up.
05 = Ground
09=Serial data
the 16 pin connector on my 95 is layed out like this:
01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08
09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16
also try to check "setup" then "vehicle type" make shure it says "F-car" (manual trans or automatic trans)

the cable shouldn't be the problem, assuming you bought the pre-made version. The problem is most likely in the configuration of Datamaster. Make sure that you have selected the correct com port and vehical type. Also you could try using FreeScan. If you can't get FreeScan to work either then maybe the cable is faulty or the USB adapter isn't working properly.
