I have a 97 T/A that has recurring P1416 trouble code coming up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can proceed without going through replace with known good part? I'm not sure where I should start on this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

P1416 is the following code: Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system Bank 2

It could just be a faulty check valve. I would also check the line to make sure there is no damage. If you are unfamilar with the check valve, here is their location courtesy of Shoebox:http://shbox.com/1/diverters.jpg

 

Thanks for the flow chart 96Z and the valve location 2000 GTP. I will see if I can locate the problem this weekend with the help you have provided.
