there is a garentee fix by ed wright, but remember if ed tunes your car, you cant scan it nor can you change programming. so your stuck
i did get the fix from one of the above names, but it wouldnt work on the 4400 stall, i had to change 2 other tables. in order to make it work. and it has not failed me since. and none of the persons mentioned above will garentee the fix but ed.
it took about 12 hours to figure out the fix for the 4400 stall, and it was acctually a better driver than the 2800 stall he had before, but the drive quality took alot of torqe covertor tuning.
Honda Hunter i have never heard any bad issues from this, and ive heard back from all but one person i helped.

Re: OBD1 High Stall Problem
Hey 97Z-M6, i've got bryan at pcmforless changing my tune for my 3200 stall, do you mind if i send you the file and let you look it over to see if you can further perfect it?
Re: OBD1 High Stall Problem
yeah send it on. vincentbergeron@yahoo.com
load it first and see if it works. you might not need to send it. but ill look at it.

Re: OBD1 High Stall Problem
ok, i sent you the .bin file. I cant load the tune till i put my cam in cause the tune is for a Lt4 hotcam plus he threw the stall fix in there too. I could have got him to make another one with just the stall fix and no cam, but i didnt wanna make him go through all that.

Re: OBD1 High Stall Problem
well i spoke to Bryan Herter over at PCMFORLESS this morning, and he said he has a for sure gaurantee fix for this problem. He states "the VSS signal goes crazy because the tail shaft flexes, and sends the computer into limp mode." But he has the fix.
Re: OBD1 High Stall Problem
yeah bryan did the fix for me, i cant load the tune in yet and prove it worked. He told me the same thing, the tailshaft flex on a hard launch sends the computer into limp mode or something and it just shifts into 3rd and stays there to you get off the gas for a few seconds. He said some cars actually got stuck in 3rd gear till you cut the car off tho. My car took off, then would bogg and rev up but go pretty slow, cause it stuck in 3rd gear and wouldnt drop down till i let of the gas for like 3-5 seconds.

Re: OBD1 High Stall Problem
There is no trick to fixing it. On a hard launch, the vss loses signal and the computer goes into "limp" mode.
You need to make it so that the pcm doesn't use the vss for it's wot shift calculation.
...wow, this is the first time I've posted in here in a while.
