OBD-II PCM's interchangable for 96-97 LT1?
I was wondering if I could run a '96 PCM in my '97 LT1 without any issues. Also, if the PCM was tuned for a similar setup (M6, 3.42, LT headers, !emissions) that matches mine would there be any concerns there?
I've only messed with tuning with EFI live, I know if you do a PCM swap on my truck you would have to perform crank re-learn and security re-learn.

Both the 96 and 97 are OBD-2. The wiring diagrams are essentially identical. But I looked around and couldn't find any confirmation that the PCM's are or are not interchangeable.

I'm not sure if they are interchangeable either, but they do have different part numbers in the GM parts manual(16214399 = '96 and 16242921 = '97). I went to look at my spare PCM in the garage and it matches the '96 part number in the parts manual. If I recall(it's been several years), I think I sent PCMforless a '97 model PCM and they exchanged it for a '96 for me when I purchased programming from them.
The 94 and 95's are the same parts numbers and the 93 is different as well.
I would bet that they are not interchangeable.
