o2 sims

ok, i started getting a code for low activity, bank one senson 2. i went to switch the sim from that side to the passenger side to see if the code would follow, and now i have no activety codes for both sides. checked them both and they are both in right. im so confused as to what it could be.

Re: o2 sims

That is strange, maybe the scanner is showing the bank 1 code as a history code? Have you tried just resetting the PCM independent of the scanner?

Re: o2 sims

alright, im wondering if the reason i got the 2 no activity codes was do to the fact they were unpluged with the battery connected, would this cause the computer to throw the code?

Re: o2 sims

Not sure, probably not if the key was off the whole time, I'm thinking it would take a couple of ignition cycles to throw a new code. I'd do a PCM reset/disconnect the battery, then read the code(s) again. What was the original code?

Re: o2 sims

when this all started, the code was for low activity, bank one sensor two. then i went to swap them from one side to another. i went to autozone to get it pulled and there was 2 codes, for no activity on both sides. drove it home and the light came back on about 10 miles later, still not sure what the code is this time.

Re: o2 sims

You don't have to unplug the computer - just disconnecting the battery for a few minutes should've made the light go off and clear any codes. If the SES came back on immediately the problem is still there. Here's how I used to reset mine before I got the Predator:

Turn key on, don't start car
Pull PCM BATT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment
Wait 5-10 min
Turn ignition off
Replace fuses

Don't know if the procedure is the same for your car, maybe an LT1 guy can chime in and verify.

Re: o2 sims

Or just take the negative cable and hold it against the postive terminal for about 10 sec and that should clear the pcm capacitors.

Re: o2 sims

figured it out, its just one sim, i guess cause i switched them with out clearing the original code(no activity bank 1, sensor2) that code was read when i pulled them the last time. i just went to autozone, pulled the code, and only got 2 codes for the bank 2 sensor 2. cleared them and then drove till it came back on, same thing. so its in the sensor that was originaly on the drivers side.

Re: o2 sims

Glad you got it - you had the right idea from the beginning - just would've been easier if you had your own scanner. So "blinky" doesn't always mean "worky."
