No response from PCM..

I tried to read my pcm, and I got this message"no response from pcm." Does anybody know what is wrong? My aldl cable? Wiring to the pcm? My old-*** HP laptop? Im about to freak out on this thing, lol. HELP!!!

I tried using Datamaster, and Im not getting any streaming data or anything. I've got some trouble codes that I need read, and both of my fans are on due to a particular code. This is always the luck I have with mail orders...

What type of connection are you using - serial or USB?

And its a cable specifically designed for a USB connection? Have you ever used the cable before? Did it ever work?

Have you assigned the correct com port. Assuming Windows/XP...Control panel, system, hardware, dev mgr, ports to see what port the cable is assigned to. Then Datamaster, record adl , setup, com port to set Datamaster to use that port ??

Forgot to ask you about the driver, did you get a CD with the original cable, did you try reinstalling the driver on the new laptop ?
