Computer? Distributor?

Alright so i have a 95 z28 auto and i have an accel optispark and right now i have to hold the key forward and it takes excessive cranks so i took it to the shop and they said it was code 36 check connection to distributor and if connection is good replace it but i have my fans kicking on right away too and a security light is on in the dash when i drive and the a/c is not working but not sure if it need s charged or if its the computer because i think it worked before this all randomly started one day. ses light is on. so should i replace the computer of the distributor? your opinion?

36 is high res pulse from the opti. Most likely wiring. The fans come on as soon as the PCM throws a DTC. Don't worry about the AC till you get the running problem solved. OBDI PCM's very very rarely go bad. Don't go throwing a PCM at it. Not yet any way.

Closely check the opti harness for corrosion and good connection, first. The Accel optis don't have too good of a track record so far.

Try getting is scanned again to see if you still have the same code, or if there are any new ones.
