Nitrous tuning

How much timing should be pulled to run 100 shot?
Should I just tune the car and then run a timing retard box?

Tune the PCM for optimum performance without N2O. Use an external box for the timing retard.

He's talking about using the traction control tables to control spark advance.

Fred, what external box do you use. I know you run a motec system on your car. I run the delteq system and would think that the MSD DIS-4 box would work with my set up but I don't know for sure. What are your thoughts on that? I was also thinking of just running two different tunes. One for N/A and one for 200 shot through Tunercat tuning to retard everything using the spark tables. Thoughts, comments??

thats the beauty of the traction control spark retard table.. dont have to run two different tunes, just enable the traction control input and you have a nice rpm vs retard table in the factory ecm to utilize

No box, no external "add-ons". The MoTeC contains programs for both NA and nitrous. When I arm the nitrous system, it switches to the nitrous program. It completely controls the nitrous system as well, acting as a WOT switch, window switch, programmable rev limiter (cut fuel, cut spark, cut both). The MoTeC can also use the Opti high and low res pulse patterns for cam position, and has an 8-channel ignition driver that I use to run 8 LS1-style coils. It may seem expensive at first, but I bought mine used for about 1/2 of original cost, and you don't have to buy a lot of "add-ons". At one time, I had it set up for three different switch selectable scenarios.... NA/94-octane, 125-shot with 100-octane and a 150HP 2nd stage when running C16. Switched to the 125-shot when the nitrous arm switch went on, enabled the 2nd stage when the button on the shifter was pushed.
