New to Tuning. Need Help pleasee
Well let me start by saying what I have:
95 LT1 stroked to a 383 with forged internals 11.8:1 compression
200CC AI LT1 heads, AI ported intake manifold, Jesel Shaft Mount Solid roller, 58mm TB, Pacesetter mid tubes (longtubes wouldn't work in my truck), 42lb/hr injectors, 3" true duals, electric water pump, CAI, descreened and polished mass airflow sensor, .668 .668 lift solid roller cam, 3600 stall, 3.90's.
I am dropping it in tommorow and am at a loss on what I should do with tuning. It is a father son project and I wanted to do this with my dad so I don't want to get a tune from pcm or anything. I have tunercat and datamaster and I have been reading alot about tuning so I know what I kinda need to do. Does anyone has a tune sort of close to what I have to help me get a "base tune" and I can go from there? And anyone that can tell me what I really need to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'd say start with speed density, I have my doubts about getting the cam you chose to idle without fogging gass in anything but open loop.
You picked a pretty tough motor to learn on, unless you've already done a few. My advice is start by bumping the closed tps spark tables to 27 or 30 for the 400 800 and 1200 rpm cells. Then bump the idle rpms up i'd say 1000 would be a good starting point from the specs you posted in another thread. Make sure your constants are all correct, cyl volume, injector size, etc etc etc. Turn off all your trouble ses codes that will trip and go from there. But that should at least get you up and running.
Might have to open your tb blades a little, but i'd try to start it first and see where you're at. You may have to pedal it a little to get it to start as well.
