Need TunerCat help badly please....

Trying to program my Camaro (95 LT1) and keep getting "incorrect message sent" errors. At this point, it won't even read the PCM. Last night it read it intermittenly but today it won't even read. I tryed programming my pcm last night after a few good reads, but it died and I lost that PCM. Tried my backup PCM and the same result. Luckely I have them socketed and I program the flash chips myself. Both PCM's are now back to normal and the car runs on both (although not well cause I don't have my normal programming in there) PCM's. My cable is hardwired to the back of my ADL connector and soldered. I can run Freescan and my laptop communicates with the PCM fine but dies out when trying to establish communication when running TunerCat. Got plenty of Battery voltage and have even tried two different batteries and even hooked up jumper cables to my truck, but no help. My laptop is a 233mhz P2 running win2000 and I have enough memory. Nothing running when trying to run TunerCat and all power saving features are turned off. I've really had no problems in the past with Tuner once I got the bugs worked out. I haven't programmed in a few months but back when I did, it worked fine. I'm stumped. Please help. I would apprecate any input. Thanks in advance.

Did you recently soldier your ALDL connector on? Maybe you have some pins making contact with each other.

I hope this helps.

Try both the windows flash utility and the DOS version. Its been my experience that some computers like using the DOS while others will work using the windows just fine. I even have a socketed PCM that seems to have a 20% success rate with the windows version but 100% success rate with the DOS version... why i have no idea but after frying it several times I tried the DOS and it works great.
