Can I gain with tunning, LT's and RRs?

I'd like ot get Hooker LT's, and 1.6 RR's
at the same time take out the egr, and the air.
So I thought while I get the egr, air, rear O2's and hte skip shift programmed out get abit of a tune for the stuff going on.

And then next year when I get a cam it should be easier to tune that in right? jsut hook up the cable and upload the new one?

I would convert over to obd1 and use tunercat to tune it if you decide to program it yourself. I converted mine and I only have $120 in the swap. Then you can get cheaper datalogging software (several are free) and it won't be locked to 1 PCM as LT1 edit for obd2 is. It won't be as easy as throwing in the new tune for your cam swap though, it will take some tinkering to get it dialed in.

Good luck ,
Botch

i picked up a bone stock LT1 vette over 22rwhp (probally 28rwhp when all said and done) and the car was stock down to the paper air filter and original plugs.

did 288rwhp completely completely stock (well besides a chip now )

with the rear O2's programmed out I shouldnt need O2 sims right?

and with programming myself, is it hard? I mean I have NO idea, and I would need a dyno right?

And what can the stock motor rev to without damage? providing no valve float? jsut so I can make that redline, not meaning I'm going to go that high.

correct

It is easy to make changes to the file and upload it to the PCM.. interpreting them however is a little challenging.. especially if you have never done it before.

damage occurs when you rev the motor higher than normal so anything higher than the highest you have taken it could result in spun bearing. a safe rev limiter is 6700 rpm for a stock bottom end car.
