Need help getting Datamaster to work on my laptop with PCMCIA card!
I have a brand new Gateway laptop (2 months old) with Windows XP and I cannot get Datamaster to work on it. I bought a Startech PCMCIA card to serial adapter recommended from you guys here on the board. I have installed all the drivers and the device is working properly, but Datamaster says the ALDL cable is working but does not recognize the pcm. The only serial port datamaster will allow me to use is Com 3. If I go into device manager and select ports and and set the first port as com 1 datamaster still will only recognize com 3. I don't know what the deal is, but could really use some ideas. I have disabled the CCM handshake in datamaster and I also tried "detect crystal frequency" in device manager com setting, but I cannot highlight that area. I also downloaded the ALDL test from datamaster and the Com 3 is the only thing highlighted there also, but when I run the test everthing passes the test. Hope this isn't too confusing and thanks ahead of time for any help!

Jeffrey!
Here's a TTT for ya.
Sorry I can't help you, but I know a guy around here didn't have any luck with the PCMCIA card with LT1 Edit. I've never had any luck with my Gateway ($1500 POS!) laptop getting anything other than Auto Tap to work.
