hi , i bought my first camaro 4 days ago from the auction and it wont turn over , if i jump the starter it will run for 5 to 10 seconds then die , the only code i have is po1629 can some one please help , i want to drive my car ...... thanks

 

What year is car? For a 99 code 1626 is the theft deterrent system which cuts off the fuel at the PCM if the correct key is not used,there are 15 different codes(resistances) for this year.Or it could be faulty sensor/wiring connections in the ignition barrel.You need to check resistance across key contacts with an ohmeter then with key in ignition rotate checking resistance across each position,if there is a 5ohm or over change there is a problem with the key contacts or the lock cylinder.
