Need a bit of advice on VE tables Vs. MAF tables

Example: After installing a cam, what's the first step? Do you mess with the VE tables immediately? or do you adjust the MAF tables first? If so how do you know how much change the MAF should get?
I've logged a couple drives/runs on datamaster and tuned the car with the VE tables (not messed with the Timing yet) and it runs pretty decent for now (see times in sig.). A friend tells me that he always changes the MAF tables when he tunes a cammed car. Do I need to do that too and then redo my VE tables? Also, how do I go about tuning the timing tables? how much? where? etc.

Thanks

Your MAF tables probalby shouldnt be messed with since they're telling the computer how many GPS are coming in the engine. My guess is that you want to modify whatever tables affect how much fuel it should add for the changes made to the engine (sorry not sure where to go for that )

yeah, those are the VE tables. I guess you can leave the MAF tables and only tune VE or tune both to go complement each other. Oh well, I'm gonna play with the tables and see how the car reacts to it!
