Data master is a read only program.

It will tell you the spark advance.

As far as changing it when you get a cam, you will need lt1 edit or tuner cat.

Just have someone else program the pcm for the cam, if it is common, JMO.

Try more idle rpm, try different IAC settings, and more or less closed TPS timing.

the closed tps timing is 38. the iac counts are 43 in open loop and 76 in clossed and with the ac on they are 107

so whattable do i lower or raise.

Are you asking about timing in general, like your first post indicates?
Or have we moved on to just trying to raise the idle vacuum like your second post is asking?
Or both?

well both kinda

if i have a stock car and i through in a healthy cam.,and i look on datsmaster as i scan it. what would indicate where i need to add timing, not at idle but all across the board.

the other question was kinda for a freind i can see to get his map down below 56 at idle. and the blms are split at 116 and 125.

There really isn't anything that you can look for as far as knowing what to do with timing.
I will tell you this, with the cars/cams that I've done I haven't strayed much from the stock timing table. A couple of degrees in the lower rpm/map areas.
The only other thing is to shift the table to the right. From what I've seen is given the same conditions, a larger cam is going to have a higher map at part throttle conditions.

With the blm split and idle map, keep trying different rpm and closed tps combinations. If it is a 230/236, what I've found is 950-1000rpm and 30-32* to be the sweet spot.
I'd have to look to see if I can find that datalogs to see what we ended up with as far as map/vacuum.
