Question LT1 PCM for 400 sbc and FAST eDist compatibility ??

I'm about to build a 406 sbc that will make about 500-550hp N/A. To save some money, I would like to use a stock ECM (LT1 or 730) if I can.

I want to use an MSD crank trigger and cam sync, LS1 coils, and a box to fire the coils that is also compatible with the stock PCM.

If I've read stuff on here correctly, then the Bailey box should work, right?

Also, is the FAST eDist compatible with the LT1 PCM? Is Motec's box?

On the other hand, would I be better off just using an aftermarket ECM?

Any help is very much appreciated.

I am no expert but its probably super cheap to at least try stock pcm first. Those other boxes are thousands with wiring, sensors, and software, right?
