LT-1 Edit
I'm starting fresh with a new project. Has anyone had recent experience with LT-1 edit software. The car is a 1995 Trans Am M6. 383, 10.5 compression, CC306 camshaft, 58CC heads. Smog equipment, ABS, CAGS, and VATS delete. Right now the engine is running so fat, I can't stand to be around it for more than a few seconds. I bought the program so I could start tuning, just wondering if anyone has used it much. If needed I can provide all engine details if it will help. Thanks.
Re: LT-1 Edit
He has a 95, so it would be OBD1. His best bet would have been to purchase Tunercat, it is a far superior program to LT1Edit.
Re: LT-1 Edit
Keep in mind that LT1_Edit (OBD-I version) was written in the mid/late 90's. It was the best thing available at the time, and a lot of people were thankful for it.

Re: LT-1 Edit
Thanks for all the replies. I will try the tunerpro. I have a new problem though. The ALDL connector under the dash is no longer communicating. I haven't even started any programming yet. I thought maybe it was the pc I was trying to use so I swapped to a different one. Still nothing. I tried to scan for codes using a Pro-Link, a MT2500 and a Genisis. Thay all say no data. I bypassed the factory wiring and made a direct line to the connector from the ECM. And still, nothing. Any ideas? So far the guy at Carputing doesn't want to reply to my messages. Don't know where else to go from here.
Re: LT-1 Edit
Are you sure those scanners are OBD-I capable and if so, are you using the correct adapter cable to work with your 1995? You can try a 12 pin OBD-I cable and scanner connected like this.

One word of caution- make sure your computer isn't going to die, or nothing is going to interrupt the computer while you are doing a tune. Its a sure way to roach a PCM...
Re: LT-1 Edit
I have the AKM cable. I just got the car to communicate. I downloaded the TunerPro software and the C.A.T.S. flash and it works. LT-1 Edit just won't work. Now I need to figure out how to dial back the fueling so it will quit smoking like an old E-6 Mack.
Re: LT-1 Edit
Have it done for you unless you want to invest the time to learn about how to tune a car, and I'm not talking about learning how to use the software and upload the file. To do that, you need software and a cable. To tune a car, spend a couple years (minimum) reading and doing or get a job in a dyno shop. If you want to use software to change your gear ratio or fan temps, that is a little different, and by all means, go ahead. If you want to manipulate your fueling and timing, and maybe your transmission shifting characteristics, then you best get your sht together or risk ruining your engine/trans. It's no different than anything else worth knowing, you need to pay your dues. No one can just flip you the knowledge.
