LS1 edit ? ANYONE ?
LS1 edit ? ANYONE ?
What do you guys think about PCM for less .........Poeple are telling me that if I have it done it wont be near as good as local LS1 editing . PCM for less is half the price of the local guy "500 bucks-vs-250 " Im already spending over 2 grand Im trying to save every penny I can . How do you think PCM for Less stacks up agains local LS1 editing ?
LS1 Edit is the premier PCM editing software for the LS1. i dont know much about PCM for less, to be honest this is the first time ive ever heard of it and i get the feeling their is probably a reason for that :/ buy LS1 Edit software for 550 and you can do ANYTHING. i just got my car moded and i know where your coming from.. parts + labor stacks real fast but id hate to try and take the cheap route to save an extra $200 and get an inferior product.
LS1 Edit gets my vote.

A dyno tune by an experienced tuner using LS1 Edit is usually $350 to $450. By tuning each parameter on YOUR car and checking for the proper results on the dyno you can get the exactly correct tune for YOUR car and you drive away with the dyno sheets to prove it. If any tweeking is needed later most tuners do it for free. A mail order tune where your car is not present is only some tuners best guess at what he THINKS your car needs. You can only hope he guesses close enough for it to work beter than stock. You will not have a clue what your air/fuel ratio is or have a clue as to whether you gained even one horsepower. Only a dyno can tell you those things. Just a few years ago there were only two people who were able to get into a LS1 pcm and modify the parameters to "tune" one. So we had to rely on their mail order tunes. I know people who sent pcms back six or more times trying to get their cars to run right. With the advent of LS1 Edit software you could finally have an expert tune the pcm while it was still in the vehicle while the vehicle running on a dyno so you could see results immediatly and know it was tuned correctly. I would rather drive five hundred miles and pay twice as much to have my car dyno tuned than to have somebody I don't know just guess at what my cars needs. You get what you pay for.

There is bound to be someone within a few hours drive from your location.....Can anybody recommend a reputable tuner in Kentucky or close by?
I notice that your signature says that your car is stock. Money spent tuning a stock car is money wasted. I assume you are making some major mods to your car since you are asking about tuning.
