low RPM cam surge

hey guys, i have been trying to get rid of this cam surge...i have decresed my timing as low as 34-36 degrees to rid of this (from 39-41) and raised my TCC engage to 50 MPH. it is worse in the 50-60 Kpa range 1800-2200 rpm area and 50-55 MPH and 65 Mph..
Blms are 126 to 128 and it is a CC306 cam with ported heads ( they flow 281 in. 192 Ex. @.600)stock lower end.
any ideas what to do next? add more timing?
TIA
Ryan

Are you having low RPM cam surge or is it low throttle cam surge.

I had a similiar issue with my car, and I tried both increasing and decreasing timing . . . until a month ago!

I went and decrease timing to 65kpa with timing decreased up to 7 degree. This greatly helped reduce my cam surge. When I added back 1.5 degree the cam surge came back! Currently I still have a tiny surge left, but power feel just as strong as before. I may drop another 1-2 degree. Also you can check to avoid a timing jump of more than 2 degree in adjacent cells. If this doesn't work then try increasing timing.

So I will suggest reducing timing in the rpm cells that you need up to 70kpa range and maybe reduce more timing than what you did. I realize this after reading through most of the LT1 Edit archive where I saw that with bigger cam, some people never see any thing below 60-65kpa! I am running a custom grind Comp cam 229-242-114.

sorry its part throttle cam surge, i increased the timing to 43* in the affected areas and it has take almost all of it away. i decreased it as low as 34* with no changes in the surge, now that its in the 43* timing in the affected area it is barely there and no knock so i am going to add 1* more to see if it will rid of it.
