shift time VS TPS

Is that corrct that shifts are set as high as 6.38 seconds. Damn thats a damn long shift.
What are the minimun limits that can be entered without really confusing the transmission seleniods.
I am looking in TC for these values. Is LT1 edit giving comparable numbers?
One more question. I read somewhere that Z/28 use performance table all the time, whereas Pontiacs use them only if the perf button is pushed. Is there a way to set default in TC?

I am also interested in what those numbers mean, that cant be seconds or the car would never shift. I bought my tranny from a shop in california that false advertised as Art Carr, it shifts fine from 1st to 2nd, but has a pause between 2nd to 3rd shifts, kinda like riding in a cadillac that shifts really smooth.

Does anyone know what those #'s represent??
